College football is absolutely the best sporting venue to take place in the United States today. The atmosphere that one feels at the games is unheard of compared to any other sporting event. The reasons are very clear.
First, the athletes have everything to gain by trying their hardest. Second, the fans that go to the game are normally tied to a common bond and that they have gone or are currently going to school at the place they are watching the game. Lastly, each individual game has much impact on what bowl or ranking the team will achieve at the end of the season.
Collegiate athletes strive to play their best because in essence the ultimate goal is to become a professional superstar. In addition, most have full ride scholarships to obtain an education, which may not be available if they had not played the sport. Having this dream and notion in their head provides extra incentive to go out and try their best.
By showing so much heart, an audience member can really get behind and support the student athlete. During the games, there are is such a great bond amongst the crowd. Most have gotten their education at the particular school and they want nothing more for the team to be great. This immediate point of interest leads to finding friends, building rapport with neighbors in the audience, and being part of an incredible experience that can last a life time with memories.
Finally, unlike professional football, each game will dictate which bowl the team can go to as well as the ranking. Even a single loss for a very strong team can lead them to going to a less than desirable bowl game which means lost revenues for the school. With this said, it goes back to the notion that the collegiate athlete will try the hardest with each play. College football is simply the best!
